received B.A.'s in Dramatic Arts and English from the State University of
New York at Geneseo, and his M.F.A. in Creative Writing and Publishing with
an emphasis in Playwriting from Emerson College in Boston. He studied
"Review and Criticism" for two semesters at Boston University under
Richard Eder, former theatre critic for The New York Times,
and current Los Angeles Times Book Reviewer.
In addition to reviewing for Aisle Say since 1996, from June of 1995
through January of 1997, he was the Theatre Critic for the Grapevine
Newspapers and the theatre reviewer for AARO-Arizona
Art Review Onlinefrom August of 1995 through January of 1999. He is
also the Arizona Regional Reporter for PlayWright's Theatre of Phoenix
from 1992 through 1994, and has been their Dramaturg-in-Residence,
Playwriting Instructor and Workshop Facilitator since 1996. The 1998
PlayWright's Theatre production of his full-length play, Bottom Desk
Drawer, was nominated for three ariZoni Theatre Awards, including Best
Actor, Best Director, and Best Overall Original Production, winning the
first two.
He was Production Manager, Actor, Director and Playwright-in-Residence at
Murder Ink Productions
of Mesa from 1991 to 1998, and wrote two of their long-running shows. In
1991 and 1994, his murder mysteries won the New Times "Best of
Phoenix" award for Best Dinner Theatre. The Big Kill, which
opened in 1991, is the second longest-running show in Arizona history.
He is currently an Account Executive at the advertising firm Thistle
Productions, Inc., writing and producing cable television advertising
and marketing tune-in commercials and supporting print materials for such
cable firms as Time-Warner, Media One and TCI.
His full-length plays, one-acts and murder mystery dinner theatre
productions have been widely produced, both nationally and internationally.
His one regret in life is that he is not Woody Allen.
